It’s here I stand
Nothing in hand
Hoping to find
Some peace of mind
There is a time for peace, and a time for recovery.
In a digital world, we are constantly bombarded with noise—news, opinions, attacks on individuality, endless posts reminding us of all we lack. Convenience has come at a cost.
In an attempt to reclaim what is rightfully mine, I separate myself from these attractive distractions as often as I can. Each time, I extend this technological abstinence a little longer. I put it down, turn it off, and disconnect. Slowly, the tinge of anxiety begins to fade. The boredom subsides. My consciousness drifts into another plane—foreign, yet familiar.
In that space, I rediscover creativity, wonder, and calm. I’m always surprised by how easily panic and worry creep in when I’m constantly connected. How can I hope to accomplish my true goals if new ones I never set are forced into my subconscious?
And so, I am connected once again—with roots.
