Eons have passed
I’ve been a mountain
I’ve become rubble
I’ve been formed
I’ve been worn
I’ve been carried
and buried
I’ve been used
and abused
and tossed at a few
I was polished and fitted
and gifted to you
this was far better
than my time in that shoe
My shine has worn off
and then I was cast
to the sea out of anger
still fixed to my anchor
I once was a mountain
and then I was cast
to start again
and eons will pass.
