The still in the morning
Dew drifting past the glow of the moon
As it falls behind the coal colored outline
Of trees on the horizon
Thoughts and plans begin to roll over in bed
Stirring the owner who’ll keep them locked in his head
Aches and pains make their way into the fold
A reminder of life lived
A badge of honor for this dutiful soul
As day breaks the opposing horizon it misses the moon
Almost by chance
Highlighting all that was hidden
The two chase each other like a romance, forbidden
They plead “I’d follow you around the world for merely a glance”
The moon is now gone and night has long passed
Day has forgiven the love that won’t last
Now A light exchanged, two lovers estranged
The world begins spinning and moving quite fast
The calm became hurry, at times, peace turns to worry
But no need to fret that you’re closer to death
If you’d pause and be grateful to Him who grants this breath.
