THE FALLOW GROUND

A space for reflection — exploring faith, grief, inner strength, and personal renewal through honest writing and creative expression.

The Solitude Exists

What do you really need? To exist in peace, thriving, but in a life of fulfillment and value. Every person has their own definitions of these: “peace”, “thriving”, “fulfillment”, “value”. After reflecting on this, a brief list comes to my mind.

I need (and truthfully in no particular order):

  • Shelter
  • Food
  • Music
  • Family
  • Water
  • Sunlight
  • Silence with the chance for laughter
  • Nature
  • Gods Word

A shelter to provide warmth for my family. A place to gather that feels like all who are welcome – belong.

Food for the sake of nutrition and health, preferably a majority of this homegrown.

Music for creativity, lifting spirits, celebrating, and creating.

Family must remain close, as they represent love, and this deserves a place in my life.

Water for cleansing, hydration, growth, and refreshing.

Sunlight, for healing, happiness, growth (yet again), optimism.

Silence for reverence, meditation, and peace, but to always welcome laughter as the only honest interruption.

Nature, to appreciate creation, breathe deeper, and connect with what matters.

Gods Word, to bring all of the above together. Prayer to guide this life beyond what I think I need.

Honestly, what do you need?
