The first morning I woke and didn’t think of you
Instead, rose from bed and only the day came into view
My body ached, so I stretched
Let out the Dog
Started my coffee
Watered my plants and did my devotion
Sat still in silence before all the commotion
No longer upset about how life isn’t fair
Or that my love was a weight that you couldn’t bear
Today is the day I begin a new mission
Rebuilding my faith and keeping the vision
A life filled with mornings of sunlight and dew, for
Tomorrow I’ll wake, and I won’t think of you.
